THE Filipino American community of Oregon and Washington states held their annual celebration of the Sto. Nino fiesta in Rainier, Oregon last January 12.
The celebration was started with a novena, followed by a procession and high noon mass officiated by Fr. Henry Rufo, a Cebuano and currently the parish priest of the Nativity of BVM Catholic Church of Rainier Oregon.
After the mass, a feast was held at the parish social hall, highlighting the various Filipino delicacies and, of course, the lechon.
A program was held, showing off their colorful costumes and dances of the Philippines, including the traditional Sinulog (kangmanang style) dancers.
