CCSC to showcase sports programs in Sinulog

WHILE the Sinulog participants are busy preparing for the parade, so were the athletes of the Cebu Sports Institute yesterday.

Ten athletes from each of the 17 priority sports of the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) will be making their presentations during the Sinulog at the grand stage at the Cebu City Sports Center grounds. They will be part of the Best of Cebu program at noon.

The program is in line with the commission’s desire to propagate its grassroots program.

“We are practicing for it and if it looks good, we will have a sports commission showcase during the Sinulog to promote our program,” said CCSC chairman Edward Hayco in a text message.

Hayco added they plan to have 10 athletes per sport and their main purpose for doing this is to let everyone know about their free grassroots program.

San Nicolas Sports Complex is the home of the Cebu Sports Institute, which offers free training to all athletes who are interested. Conducting the training are coaches who are willing to render their services to the city for free. The CCSC is also targeting 17 sports under this program. (more)
