CEBU CITY — A late start stretched the parade until 9 p.m. and heavy rains soaked dancers and left puddles, but these failed to keep some 3.5 million revelers from joining Sunday’s Sinulog festivities.
President Benigno Aquino III, on his first Sinulog, commended organizers and participants for the “distinctly Cebuano” festival.

“My Cebuano friends told me to say this: hinaut unta nga makakita kita’g hinigugma diha sa Sugbo (I hope to find someone to love in Cebu),” Aquino said, making the audience at the Cebu City Sports Complex laugh. (more)
