FOR the past eight years, the Province of Lanao del Norte has joined the annual Sinulog grand parade in Cebu City, but they went home without bagging any top awards.
The spotlight this year, however, is on them.
The province, also known as the Land of Beauty and Bounty, won first place in the free interpretation (FI) category, besting 14 other contingents, including last year’s champion, the dancing bees of Abuyog, Leyte.
It is a grand slam win, on the other hand, for the Kulturang Placereño of Placer, Masbate. This year is their third win for the Sinulog-based (SB) category, defeating 16 other contingents. (READ MORE)
