  2. gerryruiz says:

Just would like to clarify. I thought the Best in Production award (Sinulog Fiesta Queen) went to Tribu Kabatok of Tacloban (not Karatong).

    Great Sinulog Festival!!!

  4. As I’ve seen the video I can’t help but wish i was really there to see in person the winner deserve their place as winner – absolutely beautiful.
    CONGRATULATIONS!

  5. rex says:

It was Tribu Kabatok that won the Best in Production which is from Tacloban City. But Tribu Kabatok of Tacloban was unplaced on any field of competitions.

  6. Casiano P. Galan Jr. says:

A unique performance on Tribu Buyoganon, congratulations!!!…and to the rest of the contingents, you are all winners…and special mention to the participants from the Municipality of Carmen for the Best in Musicality…Congratz!

  7. manekin says:

,,,,gerry ruiz its ur fault.the karatong deserves the 2nd place,,,its luto tlaga,,,the props and the costumes and choreography is the truly the best……im lady manekin69 negros

  8. rex says:

why did you say that it was luto? y are you blaming gerry?dulag karatong was beautiful, i just thought that it should achieve something higher than 5th place…just my opinion…

  9. gerryruiz says:

Gee, I was just trying to clarify and hopefully correct a typo error in the results above! Not putting any opinion nor any implication at all & suddenly it’s my fault! hahaha!

Anyway, I was there during the Sinulog Festival Queen night and it was announced that the award for Best in Production (for the Festival Queen search, manekin69, not the Sinulog Grand Parade) went to Tribu Kabatok. Hence, I wanted to clarify.

Yes, I believe Karatong should have gotten a better Grand Sinulog Parade place in the Free Interpretation category. That’s an opinion. Mine. 😉

  10. ms.USC says:

The 2009 Sinulog, amidst chaos that surmised in the preparation stage came through only with small hitches.
The Sinulog Foundation still does not realize making this festivities commercial free, that is a separation of state and church. I was surprised by a pharmaceutical firm and other floats still appear.
I remember Baguio that their floats on fresh flowers were not commercial, rather represents segments of the landscape of Baguio. Are the Sinulog organizers deaf enough for the clamor that the Sinulog is basically “RELIGIOUS” which these incumbents are making a mockery of the festivities.

i believe that the Tribu Kabatok of Tacloban City shud have been part of the winners as declared. The Ms. Sinulog Festival Queen isn’t a competition of beauty and best in costume and how come the Tribu Kabatok didn’t place. was it bcoz of the previous competition that Cebu joined in Tacloban werein they were defited by Tacloban and they come having revenge in an improper way.
