Wow! grabe ka bongga na gyud sa Sinulog. Mao gyud ni akong mamingawan sa Cebu! By the way, I have few suggestions to the Sinulog Foundation & the City of Cebu:
    1. Like in Disney, the City should study a transport system that works to transport passengers to/from different venues. The city can partner with private transport operators. There has to be ticket stations, planned routes and schedules.
    2. No PUJ or TAXI is allowed to enter zones where sinulog activities are held. The city should find a secured parking facilities. People doesn’t care to pay if the facility is safe.
    3. The city should provide a uniform/mobile store instead of allowing vendors to build their own. The city can put designs on it. The vendors of course has to pay a higher rent but still it remains a lucrative business opportunity for them. The city can release the print and any private construction company can build.
    4. Let the core committee go to Disneyland and benchmark how they run their entertainment facilities. There are lots of good ideas in Disney that can be applied to the Sinulog Festival.

The Sinulog Festival is a grand and most important celebration not only for Cebuanos but for Filipinos in general. For it is in Cebu where the early and initial roots of Christianity were planted and sprouted to disperse all over the Philippines.

It is through the Divine Intercession of the Holy Child Jesus (Sto. Nino) that the Philippines is now the largest Christian nation in the Far East and probably the single largest nationality of Catholic Christians.

The Sinulog Festival should be a national celebration of yearly thanksgiving to God by the Filipino people for being divinely chosen to be a predominantly Catholic nation the world over.

Long live the Sto. Nino, Viva El Senor!

My family are planning on going back to Cebu for Sinulog next Year. I’ve been visiting web site where ‘Sinulog sa Cebu’ is being featured. Just like any other Cebuanos who are longing to visit Cebu for this special festivity is in AWE. ‘Sinulog sa Cebu’ became a National attraction and draw more audience around Asia and here in the USA. Everytime I showed video to friends, they’re more likely want to see and be a part to this festivity, catholic or not. I’m wondering though if all the balikbayan has a special spot-place where they can stay during the parade and eventually would create a social networking for Filipinos abroad. I kinda like the Disney benchmark suggestion but only once a year fstivity won’t be a cost effective for the city of Cebu. Proud to be a Cebuano.

I was there when the first Sinulog was celebrated with Mayor Solon and the following years and I have been in the US for almost 17 years and I am missing it a lot. I am from Bohol but I went to school and work in Cebu for 10 years. Wow the Sinulog is getting bigger…someday I want to experience it again with my daughter….Thanks for all the videos and photos…and advice the politicians to stop bickering and competing who has more power…I bet the Senyor Sto Nino would not like it…the clelebration is for Him not politics…keep it that way!!!! Pit Senyor!!! Viva Senyor Sto Nino..

From here in Arizona, I wish Pit Senior the best of everything in all the future years. While I was in the Philippines, I enjoyed Sinulog every year that I was there. I only hope that I can again be there in one of the future years, as I rate Sinulog with some of the great festivals and fairs we have here in the United States, like the famous Rose Parade on New Years Day in Pasadena, California. What I always enjoyed at Sinulog is the wonderful Philippine people and how friendly and gracious they always are, and that is the real reason that I am now married to a Filipina and also have a step-daughter that atternded high school here in Arizona and won herself five (5) scholarships to go to Arizona State University where she is now enroled in her Senior Year and her scholarships have paid for all her University expenses and tuition.. When we lived there in the Philippines she was a student there at University of Southern Philippines. Many days I wish I was back there to enjoy your great seafood, mangoes, bananas and other foods over there. Even though I am now in my 80’s I still plan on getting back there to enjoy living there again. Edwin Kinon
