POLICE reiterated its appeal to the public to be wary of thieves when watching Sinulog-related activities or hearing novenas at the Basilica del Sto. NiƱo.

At 8 p.m. Friday night, Emmanuel Mari Manago of Barangay Bacayan, Cebu City lost his black wallet with P12,000 cash while attending the novena at the basilica.

He reported the incident to the Waterfront Police.

Theft and Robbery Section (TRS) Chief Michael Anthony Bastes and Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Patrocinio Co-mendador said they received information that robbers and thieves from other parts of the country have started arriving in Cebu since two weeks ago in time for the Sinulog festivity.
